Where Giants Roam and the Wild Runs Deep

Tucked away in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, Tarangire National Park is a hidden treasure of ancient baobab trees, vast savannahs, and one of Africa’s most remarkable elephant populations. Known for its breathtaking landscapes and seasonal wildlife concentrations, Tarangire offers a more off-the-beaten-path experience compared to its famous neighbors — Serengeti and Lake Manyara.

Best Time to Visit

Dry Season (July-October)

The dry season offers the best wildlife viewing as animals congregate around water sources. The vegetation is thinner, making animals easier to spot. This is also when flamingo numbers on the lake are at their peak.

  • Animals gather around the Tarangire River , making wildlife viewing exceptional
  • Vegetation is sparse, improving visibility
  • Roads are accessible and weather is pleasant

Wet Season (November-May)

The wet season transforms the park into a lush, green paradise. This is the best time for birdwatching as migratory species arrive. The landscape is at its most beautiful, though some roads may become impassable.

  • Lush green landscapes and fewer tourists
  • Birdwatching paradise with migratory species arriving
  • Calving season in February–March — incredible predator action!
