Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival – Transfer to Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania
Your journey begins as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) . Upon landing, you’ll be warmly greeted by your private safari guide from Come Back Tanzania Adventure and transferred to your hotel in Arusha , the safari capital of Tanzani
Spend the rest of the day relaxing, exploring the local area, or meeting with your safari team for a briefing on the exciting days ahead. Enjoy a peaceful evening in the lush setting of northern Tanzania.
Day 2
Tarangire National Park – Giants & Baobabs
Begin your safari adventure with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park , known for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and stunning landscapes.
Enjoy a full-day game drive through diverse habitats where you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and even tree-climbing pythons. This park is especially famous during the dry season when wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River.
As the sun sets, retreat to your lodge or tented camp near the park entrance and enjoy a delicious dinner under the African sky.
Day 3
Serengeti National Park – Journey Into the Wild
After breakfast, travel toward the legendary Serengeti National Park , passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands.
Upon arrival in the southern or central Serengeti, begin your first game drive. The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration , where millions of wildebeest and zebra move across the plains in search of greener pastures.
Settle into your accommodation in the central or northern Serengeti and enjoy a relaxing evening after a full day of wildlife viewing.
Day 4
Northern Serengeti – Follow the Great Migration
Today, venture further north into the Northern Serengeti , one of the best places to witness the dramatic river crossings of the Great Migration — especially between June and October .
You’ll explore this remote and pristine region, where crocodiles lie in wait along the Mara River , and lions patrol the banks in search of prey. Your expert guide will take you to the best spots based on seasonal movements of wildlife.
Return to your camp or lodge in the late afternoon for relaxation and a hearty meal.
Day 5
Northern Serengeti – Game Drives Along the Mara River
Dedicate today to exploring the Mara River region in depth. This is prime territory for witnessing epic predator-prey interactions, thrilling river crossings, and abundant birdlife.
Game drives will take you along the winding waterways and open plains, offering endless opportunities for photography and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush, surrounded by nature’s raw beauty.
Return to your lodge or camp in the evening, where you can unwind and enjoy the peacefulness of the wild.
Day 6
Central Serengeti – Back to the Heart of the Plains
This morning, head back south toward the central Serengeti , a vast expanse of golden grasslands teeming with life.
Enjoy a game drive en route, spotting predators, grazing herds, and solitary leopards resting in acacia trees. You may also visit Seronera Valley , known for its high concentration of wildlife year-round.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing your exploration. You may also have the opportunity to visit a local Maasai village to learn about their traditional lifestyle and culture.
Arrive at your accommodation in the central Serengeti and spend the evening reflecting on your incredible journey so far.
Day 7
Ngorongoro Crater Safari & Maasai Cultural Visit
After breakfast, ascend to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater , often described as Africa’s “Garden of Eden.”
Descend into the crater for a full-day safari in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which contains one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. You'll have the chance to spot all members of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — along with hippos, flamingos, and countless other species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing your exploration. Later, visit a traditional Maasai boma to learn about their customs, lifestyle, and connection to the land.
Retreat to your lodge perched on the crater rim for panoramic views and a peaceful night.
Day 8
Departure – Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport
On your final morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before beginning your journey back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) .
Depending on traffic and flight schedules, there may be time for a short stop in Arusha for last-minute souvenir shopping or refreshments.
Your driver/guide will ensure a smooth transfer to the airport, bringing your unforgettable Tanzanian safari to a close.
