Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Tanzania – Welcome to the Land of Endless Horizons
Your adventure begins as you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or arrive in Arusha by other means. You’ll be warmly welcomed by your friendly guide from Come Back Tanzania Adventure , who will transfer you to your hotel or lodge in Arusha.
Spend the rest of the day relaxing, adjusting to the local time, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of northern Tanzania. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your safari team, go over your itinerary, and get excited for the days ahead.
If time allows, you may enjoy a short tour of Arusha town or visit a nearby cultural center.
Day 2
Tarangire National Park – Land of Giants
After an early breakfast, set off towards Tarangire National Park , known for its breathtaking scenery, massive baobab trees, and vast elephant herds that roam freely across the savannah.
Once inside the park, enjoy a full-day game drive, exploring diverse habitats where you might spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and even elusive leopards resting in the trees. Birdwatchers will especially love this park, which is home to over 500 bird species.
As the sun sets behind the horizon, retreat to your comfortable lodge or tented camp near the park entrance. Enjoy a hearty dinner and unwind under the African sky.
Day 3
Serengeti National Park – Into the Endless Plains
Today marks your journey into the legendary Serengeti National Park , one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. The scenic drive offers changing landscapes — from rolling hills and acacia woodlands to open plains stretching endlessly in all directions.
You’ll start your first game drive en route or upon arrival in the southern or central Serengeti. The Serengeti is famous for being the stage of the Great Migration , where millions of wildebeest and zebra move in search of fresh grazing lands.
Arrive at your accommodation in the afternoon and relax before enjoying dinner with the sounds of the wild in the background.
Day 4
Full Day in Serengeti National Park – Heart of the Wild
Dedicate today to discovering the true essence of the Serengeti. Embark on a full-day game drive across the golden plains, where nature unfolds in dramatic fashion.
You may witness thrilling predator-prey interactions, majestic lions basking in the sun, cheetahs sprinting after prey, or eagles soaring above herds of grazing animals. If the season is right, you might see the spectacular river crossings of the Great Migration.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by stunning views and the sounds of the wild. In the late afternoon, return to your camp or lodge for relaxation and a delicious evening meal.
Day 5
Ngorongoro Crater – Africa’s Wildlife Eden
Begin your day with breakfast before heading toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area , arriving at the crater rim mid-morning.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater , often described as a “miniature Africa” due to the incredible variety of wildlife found within its walls. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to dense populations of animals, including all members of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino.
Enjoy a full day of exploration inside the crater, stopping at key spots such as the hippo pool, flamingo lakes, and open grasslands teeming with life. A picnic lunch is enjoyed in the crater, surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
In the late afternoon, ascend back to the crater rim and check into your lodge with panoramic views over the surrounding highlands.
Day 6
Return to Arusha & Departure
After a relaxed breakfast, begin your journey back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) .
Depending on traffic and flight schedules, there may be time for a quick stop in Arusha for last-minute souvenir shopping or a coffee break.
Your driver/guide will ensure you arrive at the airport in plenty of time for your departure flight, bringing your unforgettable Tanzanian safari to a smooth close.
