Day 1
Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Elephant Paradise
Drive to Tarangire National Park , about 1.5 hours away
Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park , known as one of the best places in Tanzania to see large herds of elephants roaming freely across the plains.
Enjoy an immersive game drive through diverse landscapes dotted with ancient baobab trees. Spot unique wildlife such as the fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk, along with a variety of bird species.
Day 2
Discover Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approx. 1.5 hours).
Head to Lake Manyara National Park , a lush contrast to the previous day’s terrain. The park offers a rich mix of ecosystems — from dense forests to open grasslands and the shimmering soda lake.
Experience a memorable game drive where you may encounter tree-climbing lions, hippos in the pools, and vast flocks of flamingos. The park is also a haven for bird lovers, with over 400 recorded species.
An optional stop can include a visit to a nearby natural feature or walking trail for a closer look at the region’s beauty.
Rest for the night in the Karatu area, nestled between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Day 3
Ngorongoro Crater – A Natural Wonder
Depart early to reach Ngorongoro Crater by sunrise
Descend into the legendary Ngorongoro Crater , often described as Africa’s Garden of Eden. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most concentrated wildlife areas on the continent.
Spend several hours exploring the crater floor on a full-day game drive. With luck, spot all of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — in a single day.
Optional cultural engagement includes visiting a traditional Maasai boma , offering insight into local customs and lifestyle.
After a fulfilling day of exploration, ascend the crater rim and return to Arusha, bringing your unforgettable Tanzanian adventure to a close.
